Refurbishment of a two-bedroom housing
This refurbishmentof a 75 m² flat in Bilbao was planned on the double basis of affecting the whole house minimizing the budget. A hierarchy of actions was established, discarding those more expensive in favour of those that, implying a lower cost, have a maximum impact. Partitions on the living spaces are changed whereas changes on wet rooms are rejected. Coating so fall walls are renewed whereas windows are conserved.
As it is a long house, with short facade distance, cross partitions are eliminated. Instead, a single central piece of furniture, parallel to the entrace of the light, pulls apart the living room from the bedroom. It woks as a bookshelf and as a headboard, it activates different ways of walking around the house, providing it with amplitude and allowing to incorporate part of the bedroom to the livingroom during the day. Also, storage is displayed in the same direction creating long wardrobe fronts.
